        FADE IN  

1       INT. SCHOOL LIBRARY – DINNINGTON – LATE MORNING   1 

 

Empty library, transitions to three school kids looking at books on the shelves searching for something.  

The camera switches to a close-up of Malik. 

MALIK 

(sighs) I can’t find anything good. 

Malik closes the book in his hands and turns his head to Damien behind him. 

MALIK (CONT’D) 

Can you? 

Damien finishes struggling to pull a book out of the shelf and turns to Malik. 

DAMIEN 

Nah. 

There is a minute of silence, they both have look towards the ground as if they are thinking of something. 

DAMIEN (CONT’D) 

(in mind) Hmm... 

ANGELA  

Are we done now? Even if there was anything, someone would’ve written about it. 

The two boys simultaneously put away the books and head out of the library with Angela. 

ANGELA (CONT’D) 

(hurriedly) See you later! 

The two boys wave goodbye to Angela. 

2     EXT. DOE QUARRY LANE – DINNINGTON – EARLY AFTERNOON   2 

Quiet street, truck camera movement to catch up and track the two boys at a long shot. 

MALIK 

Where should we look now? 

A car swiftly passes through the screen. 

The camera transitions to a more zoomed in shot of the side of the boys.  

DAMIEN 

We could try the town library. 

3    INT. RESOURCE CENTRE – DINNINGTON – EARLY AFTERNOON    3 

An establishing shot from behind the two boys outside the entrance of the town library. 

The two boys start walking towards the entrance. 

The camera transitions to them less than 2 minutes later walking into the library with an establishing shot from behind.  

DAMIEN 

I’ll look upstairs. 

MALIK 

Alright I’ll try look down here. 

Transitions from them walking through the entrance to Damien starting to walk up the stairs and Malik entering an aisle.  

With a close-up shot of Malik from the right side of him, reading through a book. 

A figure appears to the opposing side of Malik at the end of the aisle, muttering something under his breath. 

MALIK 

Hello? 

The figure carries on walking past the aisle, finishing his muttered sentence. 

MALIK (CONT’D) 

(in mind) Do I know them? 

4    INT. MALIKS HOUSE – DINNINGTON – LATE AFTERNOON    4 

Well-lit, quiet room with only a TV playing in the background. Malik and Damien are sitting whilst watching TV. 

Transitions to Malik with his phone to his ear, the phone starts to ring, overwhelming the sound of the TV. 

MALIK 

*Sighs* 

Malik takes his phone away from his ear and holds it to his side. 

DAMIEN 

Everything okay? 

Malik nods his head which stands as an obvious sign to Damien that it everything is not okay. 

Malik stands up from his chair carefully. 

MALIK 

I want to see if Angela is home, do you want to come with me? 

I created this script for the cast to have an understanding of what they are planned to say with the locations and camera shots of the scene. This will allow the crew to also have an understanding of the location of which the scene is taking place, and the types of shots that will be used. During the process of creating this, I researched examples of good scripts online to achieve a greater understanding of how one would be portrayed and what would be included in it. This is an essential part for when we will do the filming due to its clear presentation of the characters lines and locations used.
